Time is often money. Planes save time by cutting down on travel and transfer time. The private jet resale industry in the next decade is to be 28 billion dollars. Who would buy a plane in the first place? Are they rich toys or tools to save time?
Rich Toys or Rich Tools
Bill Gates, Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos share two things in common. They are all centibillionaires, and they all own Gulfstream G650 jets. People call the Gulfstream G650 the Royce Rolls of jets. This plane has 12 to 16 seats and can travel from New York to Dubai without needing to refuel. People criticized billionaires for spending money on private aviation. However, private aviation saves time and resources for these high net worth individuals.
Walmart’s Logistical Loophole
Walmart is the top employer worldwide, having over 2.2 million employees. The number of stores Walmart has makes it challenging for regional managers. As part of the job, they must inspect stores in the region. The stores are often miles apart and managers aren’t allowed to drive there. Instead, they use one of Walmart’s 20 private jets. They can make a trip that might take 3 days flying commercial into one day trip flying private. The time and money are important to a business who operates in a 1% gross margin industry.

Academy Regional Managers movement is by using cars instead of planes. They have a specially designed route to ensure they evaluate all stores in the region. Working with operation specialists, I learned how to effectively manage time and deter shoplifting. By specialising in operations, the company learned how to implement a strategy that would save time and money for the company as we faced new goals.
In Conclusion
Working at Academy Sports and Outdoors, I learned valuable skills, such as time management and how to deter theft. These skills have practical implications. The lessons of salesmanship, marketing and customer success help us reach new heights as a company and create personal self improvement.
