The new buzzword is metaverse. Metaverse and Web 3 have been talked about and hyped up recently. Activison is being acquired by Microsoft. Some 15 year old kids are now millionaires because of NFTs. Facebook changed it name to Meta.
Metaverse has a lot of cool feature such as decentralization. I think the technology will change the world. However, in term of actually being a good investment, I think it will not be a good investment. The metaverse reminds me a lot of 5G.
5G was a buzzword of the last 2 to 3 years. When 5G was rolled out nationwide, people thought it would change the world. What actually happened was 5G was of lower quality than 4G.
5G did change the way people interacted on smartphones however, as an investment and the product was overhyped.
