In this two-part series, I will break down all of Coca-Cola’s 21 billion-dollar brands. Here is the first part covering brands Global brands and brands only in Asia.
Global brands that have a presence in the USA
- Minute Maid– Minute Maid is a juice brand that was started in 1946 as a seprate company from Coca Cola. They focus on Orange juice and other juice products. They were aquired by Coca-Cola in 1960 and reached 2 Billion dollars in sales in 1997.
- Powerade-Powerade is a sport drink that controls 16% of the sports drink markets. The brand was launched in 1988 to compete. It reached a billion in sales in the 2000s.
- Coca-Cola-Coca-Cola is a soft drink that is the most popular beverage in the USA. It was first created in 1886 and has over 100+ years of beverage experince. It is sold in over 200 countires. The only markets it doesn’t sell is in North Korea and Cuba. The brands has over 3 Billion plus in sales.
- Fanta-Fanta is a orange colored soda sold in markets across the globe. It was orginally created in Nazi Germany when they had trade restrictions. In 1955 it was reintroducted globaly and is one of the most popular global brands.
- Sprite-Sprite is a clear fizzy lemon beverage introduced in 1961 and created in 1959. It beats 7-Up in sales and is sold in 200 countires. It reach a billion in sales in the 2000s
- Diet Coca-Cola-Diet Coca-Cola is diet version of Coca-Cola targeted at a women audience. It was introducted in 1982 and is in 185 countires and the third most popular soda drink in the US.
Brands only sold in Asia/China/Japan
- Minute Maid Pulpy-Minute Maid Pulpy is a juice brand started in 2005 and launched in China. It is marketed as a healthier Juice drink and primary operates in China, Singapore, Thailand, and other asian countries. It reached a billion dollars in sales in 2010.
- Aquarius-Aquarius is a sport drink launched in Japan. It is also a water brand in other countires. It was realsed in 1983 and reached billion dollar in sales in the 2000s.
- Ayatak-Ayatak is caloire free green tea which orginally was in Japan and Singapore. It was released in 2007 and by 2012 it reach a billion dollars in sales. It is a on the go green tea solution.
- Georgia Coffee-Georgia Coffee is a brand that has a 100 different ready to drink coffee brands. It was introducted in 1975 and is popular in China, South Korea, Singapore and India. In Japan it sale volume is two times as much as Coca-Cola. It has low sales volume in the USA.
- I Lohas-I Lohas is a water bottle brand launched in Japan with a eco focus. It reached 1 billion dollars in sales in 2016. It focus on unique packaging style that makes in effective to throw away.
- Ice Dew-Ice Dew is a water bottle brand launched in China. It was launched in 2014 and reached a billion dollars in sales in 2019. It is a leading water brand in China.
